Joe Popolo founded IpAuctions™, Inc. ("IpAuctions") in 2001 and has led its growth in its becoming the leading Intellectual Property Internet auction firm in the North America. Exploiting an under served market, he has developed IpAuctions™ into a firm with a reputation for an effective IP sales venue among, and for U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, IP law firms, corporations and others. Under Joe's direction, IpAuctions™, Inc. has developed a database of over 10,000 IP corporate attorneys, venture capital firms and other key IP buyers and sellers.

Prior to founding IpAuctions™, Inc., Joe has been the CEO and Executive V.P. of several Internet (B-to-B) and (B-to-C) commerce companies over the last 20 years, such as HardwareStreet.com and Programmers Paradise Inc. During the past 30 years he has been instrumental in numerous organizations from start-up through sale or public offerings as either Chairman or a senior executive officer in the organizations. He has raised venture capital funds and has been a consultant to various seed funded businesses. This followed an earlier career as founder and president of a computer and technology catalog sales business, Misco, Inc. which was sold to The Gillette Company. As a member of the Direct Marketing Association he was a founder of the DMA International Council. He is also active in the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Auctioneers Association.

Garrett Sutton, Esq.

Board Member

 

Garrett Sutton, Esq., is an attorney with over twenty-five years experience in assisting individuals and business to determine their appropriate corporate structure, limit their liability, protect their assets and advance their financial, personal and credit success goals. He is the author of Own Your own Corporation, The ABC's of Getting Out of Debt, The ABC's of Writing Winning Business Plans and How to Buy and Sell a Business in the Rich Dad's Advisors series.

Garrett and his law firm, Sutton Law Center, have offices in Reno Nevada, Minden Nevada, Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Sacramento, California. The firm represents hundreds of corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships and individuals in their real estate and business-related law matters, including incorporations, contracts, and ongoing business-related legal advice. The firm also assists its clients to find and analyze appropriate real estate projects.

Garrett is a member of the State Bar of Nevada, the State Bar of California, and the American Bar Association. He has written numerous professional articles and has served on the Publication Committee of the State Bar of Nevada.

He has appeared in the Wall Street Journal and other publications. He is the radio host of the national syndicated Entrepreneur Magazine Law & Money Show where he enjoys speaking with entrepreneurs and real estate investor on the advantages of forming different types of business entities. He is a frequent lecturer for business groups as well as at seminars for the Rich Dad's Advisors series.

Garrett serves on the boards of the American Baseball Foundation, located in Birmingham, Alabama, and the Reno, Nevada based Sierra Kids Foundation.

Lawrence R. Radanovic

Larry Radanovic is an attorney with over thirty years of experience and is a former partner of a Washington DC law firm. He has a broad range of experience in all phases of intellectual property law, specializing in patent, trademark, copyright counseling, licensing and prosecution matters.

Larry is active in obtaining domestic and foreign trademark registrations, copyrights and patents on a wide variety of goods and services for both domestic and foreign clients.

He has obtained many copyright registrations for creators of works in mainly the visual arts Counsels clients on trademark infringement matters and assists in trademark litigation before the federal courts. Larry has assisted in copyright litigation before the federal courts.

In patent matters he concentrates mainly in the mechanical and related arts, both utility and design, and is extensively involved in patent validity and infringement counseling, and in technology transfer including licensing negotiation.

Carl E. Mangum

Financial Consultant

 

Carl Mangum founded Mangum, Goodwin & Co. as a business-oriented public accounting practice in the mid-1970s. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in New Jersey, and has over 40 years of diversified business, consulting, tax and public accounting experience. He was with Price Waterhouse & Co. for ten years prior to starting his own firm. While with Price Waterhouse and with Mangum, Goodwin & Co he has gained extensive knowledge and experience in high technology and other businesses, including the telecommunications, computer hardware, software, services, and e-commerce sectors. Since founding Mangum, Goodwin & Co, his clients have included private and public high technology and e-commerce organizations with annual sales ranging up to $250 million in revenues.

For non-attest clients, Carl has assumed an advisory role to management, including interim CFO, in accounting, tax and other financial matters. In this role he has assisted numerous technology companies in both the formative stages and the fully developed stages of its business. He has developed accounting policies and procedures in areas such as revenue recognition, accounting for stock based compensation, and accounting for computer software developed for or obtained for internal use. He has established and has provided the internal audit function for several clients and has been a business and financial consultant to various Boards of Directors in varying areas, e.g. executive compensation matters and emerging Sarbanes-Oxley matters.

Carl has extensive experience in venture capital and other financings, Initial Public Offerings ("IPO's"), and acquisition and merger transactions. He has actively participated in all aspects of the due diligence process in all of these types of transactions from "both sides of the table". In addition he has extensive experience in forensic accounting matters, identification of intellectual property and valuations.

James R. Helbig

President, IP Resources

For the past 27 years, Mr. Helbig has provided strategic business and marketing consulting services to a wide range of technology companies in computer hardware, software, networking, semiconductor, information technology, biotech, chemical/mechanical engineering and related markets. Technology evaluation, valuation and licensing have been a major part of his services to those companies for the past 17 years as president of Marketing & Management Resources, Inc.

Prior to forming MMR, Mr. Helbig was a principal with the Silicon Valley-based technology consulting firm Regis McKenna Inc. He has also served as worldwide corporate public relations strategy manager for Texas Instruments, where he was responsible for identifying and articulating corporate technology, product and market strategy to top national and international business and management media. Before that he was president of the public affairs firm David A. Meeker & Associates. Mr. Helbig has also held technical marketing positions with Martin Marietta Aerospace and ITT Aerospace/Optical Division.

Mr. Helbig is a frequent speaker and writer on technology market and business issues, and has taught technology marketing principles and methodology at the University of Texas at Dallas.

A former chemical engineer and Navy jet fighter pilot, Mr. Helbig brings a broad business and technical background to IP Resources. He is a member of the Licensing Executives Society.
